Solas Capital AG – a European investment advisor dedicated to SFDR Article 9 eligible investments – strengthens its partnership team with the appointment of Sven Degens as Partner and Business Development Director.

Solas Capital, the European specialist investment advisory firm focused on energy efficiency and self-consumption PV infrastructure projects, has strengthened its partnership team with the appointment of Sven Degens as Partner and Business Development Director.
His appointment follows a highly successful year for the company, with the launch of the Solas Sustainable Energy Fund (SSEF) in February last year, and the final close of the fund with €220 million of investment in November.
Sven previously worked as a senior investment manager in MEAG’s infrastructure debt team and was one the founding members of the infrastructure team when he joined in 2014. In the eight years of origination work for MEAG he closed more than twenty financings and invested around €2.4bn across a wide array of infrastructure sectors. Until 2021 he worked on all sectors with a regional focus on southern Europe, before focusing exclusively on energy and energy efficiency.

In his role with Solas Capital, he will continue his work in the energy efficiency financing sector, drawing on his extensive experience and expertise to take responsibility for new product development and to extend the company’s presence in the alternative investment market in Europe. His appointment will accelerate Solas Capital’s delivery of SFDR Article 9 eligible investment opportunities for institutional investors.
